Getting an imported Autocad DXF to cut...

I've finally gotten my upgrade project to work. Now I need to cut an Autocad 2010 drawing on it.
I converted the english drawing to metric, scaled it, and exported to DXF. This imports just fine into LaserCAD.
I did have some trouble figuring out how to set the upper left of the drawing to 0,0 in LaserCAD but that is set now.
My drawing is a landscape image, and the LaserCAD only shows a portrait page and no page settings can be found to change it to landscape.
When I click the Start button I get a Donald Duck image to burn on my sheet. How do I get my drawing to burn instead? I don't see any other way to start the job.
Do I have to set all the lines to a specific layer? or somehow download the image to the 608 controller? The manual is not clear.
I only cut, no engraving.
Thanks

If you are getting a different image burned than what is on your computer it seems that you might be pressing the start button on the DSP controller before you download the file from the computer to the DSP. Once you have the job set up correctly on the computer hit the download button on the LaserCad software.

Thanks, its the obvious things I just don't get.
Anything else I should know about with an Imported DXF?
Current problems are these:
I can only adjust the page size by changing my work parameters in the system settings, I have to swap the x and y values and the wiring on my motors as well, That's my best guess for that problem.
Second is that when I import a DXF it drops the image off the work area, and I am not able to move it to 0,0, it acts as if the imported image is frozen. I can't think of anything to release it using the Edit Move option. Is it possible to reposition the work area to match the drawing?
Downloading to the box seems to be working, but the image is out of bounds and I get an error message on the key pad that I can't get past because there is no interface to enter a y or n. If the image was within the bounds of the work area, this would not be a problem.
Do I need to assign my drawing to any particular layer first?
Any other setting changes like Engrave vs Cut?
Thanks

Layers don't seem to matter. It is colors that matter as you select what to engrave or cut by color in LaserCad.
Every time I import a DXF it puts it right in the middle of the work area. Not sure why yours would be different. Perhaps you have some little dot or line segment way off in the corner of your drawing that is throwing the center of your drawing way off to the side? There is a zoom button in Lasercad to zoom all and that should bring your drawing into view.
If you have something that will not move maybe you don't have it selected. Zoom out and drag a window accross your drawing to select it then click in the little X in the middle hold the left button down and drag it.
Did you adjust your machine parameters so that your work space is the same size in LaserCad as it is on the machine?
Two big issues I have with DXF inputs are you need to use the text explode command in the AutoCad bonus tools to explode your text or it will not import into Lasercad and Plines with width loose their width when imported so you basically have to draw an outline around what you want filled in in engraving.
