Upgrading K40 with DSP - How to rewire X stepper motor?

Hi,

I am having trouble figuring out how to rewire the x motor for upgrading to DSP. The instructions for the rewiring aren't very clear. Can somebody please help?

I have a flat wire, like this, but how do I change it to the one shown in the DSP set up guide? With the Y motor, it isn't difficult, because they are normal wires, but the X wire I have no idea what to do.

Thanks very much.

I don't use it but use my wires. You better not to use original optical limit sensor as it is troublesome and finding the pin correctly is almost "mission impossible".

Hi Marco,

Thanks for your reply. I'm still unsure of which wires to use though. I don't want to damage the motor! Can you please tell me if I should remove the wires in the white connector from the circuit board, and connect those wires to the DSP kit motor driver? I have attached a photo with the wires and white connector circled in red? Should I remove these ones?

Thanks!

On my systems, here is how it pair

Red/Blue
Yellow/White

You may use a ohm meter to check the continuity to confirm it. You need to trim off the white plug and connect it to other cable. Or, if you can find a male plug to fit it in, then you don't have to trim the plug.
