leetro 6515 control replace with awc608 control

Post by swester »

has anyone replaced a 6515 with the AWC608 controller in a existing laser? I would like to know if the saw quality or speed improvements? I have the 6515 now in a suki 1290 machine running a reci100w tube. It slows way down for angle lines and arcs. It is also hard to get the corner power to work perfect for end cuts.

Thanks

Did you get it work properly and having the problem lately, or is it a new machine that you just started to use it? It could be the power setting for the corner not being set properly. Remember that there are two power setting for vector cutting: max (for straight line) and min (corning). For cutting, you don't want to set speed go over 25mm/s. Usually people use 20mm or slower for cutting. For the engraving job, you may use 500mm/s and up depends on the speed your machine can stand for it.

It works, I just think it should work better. I can get ok results buy playing with the corner settings, but I think you should not need to do corner settings differently. I have had a older epilog laser also and I did not need to do this.
