Air assist doesn't fit

Hi all,
I recently purchase an air assist nozzle ( LSR-LH1820B ) for my K40 and it doesn't seem to fit.
The laser mounting plate has a hole dia 9.2mm (sorry, metric here) but the light object assembly has a mounting dia of 16.7mm which isn't even close. Hopefully the picture shows what I mean.
It isn't a massive problem because the middle piece fits the original mirror holder so I end up with a hybrid and air assist, I'm really just interested in whether the Chinese changed the holder design at some point and to let other people know there may be a difference.
