selecting different fonts does not change font in lasercad

Any idea when I insert text in lasercad the font does not change no matter what font I select. It all comes out the same. U can hoewever change the size, bold etc.
Also there is a rectangular caracter after newly inserted text.

I have had this problem in previous versions aswell

I don't see the problem. You selected the font on the text area before posted it.

I checked again and it all seems to work OK, not sure why I thought it wasn't working.
I still have a rectangular character after all text, any idea how to disable this? I have attached a screen capture

I always got the block of text when I was working on windows XP. I switched to windows 7 and the blocks went away.

I have no problem to use font correctly on both WinXp and Win7
One thing that came up from my mind was that it could be 'region' issue. Try reset your region to USA and language set to USA see if it help.
