RECI 80W Laser Tube Purchase Question

Hi, I'm new to the forum. Not sure if this is the right forum to post purchase questions? I am thinking of purchasing an RECI 80W laser tube from this site, but first want to make sure it is a laser tube problem.

I just recently purchased a redsail x900 with an 80W "generic" laser tube. I am having to run at 1mm/s at 80% power just to cut 3/16" acrylic in one pass. Their support folks (robocutters) insist it is an alignment issue, but I have triple checked the alignment and all appears well. I have seen similar behavior on my K40 machine and replacing the tube with a new one fixed the issue. So, 3 questions:

1) Can I install an RECI tube in this machine and continue to use the same power supply? (dimensions of the tubes are identical, power supplies look identical)

2) Will I need to make any manual adjustments to the power supply if I do so? (voltage adjustments, other?)

3) Do you provide the warranty coverage for this tube? Do I have to send it back to china if it goes bad in the the first 8 months?

Thanks,
Drew

For a 80W tube, you should be able to cut 3/8" (4.7mm) acrylic with speed 8~10mm/s. Current for a 80W tube is 26~28mA in peak. 1mm/s seems very slow for a 80W tube. I could cut 4mm with a 40W (850mm tube) at 5mm/s. You may want to check the focus point by letting the machine to cut on a piece of card board see how fine of the line cut with low power say 10%.

Remember that you may have air-assisted during cutting. Otherwise, the cutting power may drop 30~40%! Also, take the lens out and clean it if it is dirty.

Regaring your question:
1) It all depends on your power supply. WIthout konwing the specification of your power supply, I'll say that in general it should work if it can output 28mA.
2) It depends on your machine whether is a DSP controller equiped or manual control through a potentiometer is used. It is hard to tell unless you post picture. If you just tell the machine model number it won't help too much as there are thousands of different laser machines model can be found in China.
3) We only provid DOA (dead on arrival) support. Means that if the tube is cracked or defective the day when the tube just delivered, we will take care it for you by sending you a new tube, regardless the tube was damaged during shipping or defective. But if it is not DOA issue, say a month later, you have to deal with the RECI (we will assist you). Usually RECI don't need you to return the tube to China for exchange like other seller does. That is the reason we like to carry RECI. Returning a tube to China cost the same of buying a new tube! Some supplier may ask you to break the tube and return the laser head to them. This is all kind of hassal we have to deal with those tube supplier in China. That's why I keep telling my customers not buy direct from China but going through us as I will take care for them. What you need to do is to take video of the tube to show the issue you found. Then, take a picture of a serial number on the laser tube and a brieft note to tell what is wrong with the laser tube. The RECI will offer you a new tube but you need to pay for shipping cost for them to ship it to you. For a 80W tube, the shipping cost is running about $425 to USA. It cost high because of "over size" and weight woun't count. To Europe, it will cost more.

Thank for all of the information! Very helpful! I found the problem. Somehow the power converter got switched to 220v input on the transformer, so the tube was only getting half the power it needed. I think I may replace the tube with an RECI tube when the time comes. Thanks! Drew
