DSP Retrofit Questions

Hello Folks!

I'm helping a gentleman retrofit a chinese laser (large and freestanding, not a K40) with stock electronics to the LightObject DSP.

I'll be removing the current breakout board, control panel, and custom interface card from the control computer, and re-using laser power supply, stepper drivers, motor power supply, +5v supply, and sundry other bits and bobs (endstops, etc.)

From what I can tell, the DSP should handle everything necessary to get the laser up and running. The only thing I'm not clear on is whether I'll need to install a potentiometer and laser current meter, or if the DSP also handles laser current measurements and adjustment as well. I'd just like to make sure and have all parts handy and ready to go before I start tearing into things.

Cheers!

Hi there
post a picture of the laser power supply, you need a current meter but no potentiometer, but you also need a 24V power supply for the DSP.
the DSP takes care of the laser current over the software.
