Questions from a newbie.....SOLVED

I received my DSP 608 in June and have some questions that I have been unable to find answers for. Sorry if they seem obvious. First, I installed installed laserCad v6.71 in English but the Screen on my DSP is all in Chinese. I used Google translate but cannot find a setting to change it to English. Second, When installing OS130622, how do I know which version I have and need to install? Third, I am unable to make connection with USB. And lastly, this software compatible with windows 8?
Any Assistance would be appreciated.

Jason

Language also sorted out, thanks to a wiki by tim wehr. I loaded v8 of the OS software and all seems to be working. Sorry, Newbie mistake of not doing enough research first.

OK, you're faster than me as I just installed the X6 on Windows 8 a few minutes ago. I couldn't duplicate your problem and all went through smoothly. Personally speaking, I hated Windows 8. :(

By the way, how did you fix it. May be you can share with us so it will help others having similiar problem

Yes, I hate windows 8 also but lack the time to find my copy of 7 and install it. The USB problem was stupid really, I had the USB plugged into the wrong port on the DSP. I didn't notice the wrong gender plug because I have both on the back of my Buildlog 2.x laser. One for Thumb drive and one to connect to computer. And the language, per Tim Wehr's wiki, :menu and down arrow 7 times gets you to the language setting. Thanks for your help. I am looking forward to get much service out of your product.
