remote " start" signal for DSP

remote "start" trigger or input for the DSP.
I want to start the laser operation ( running a program) with a remote "start "trigger. Can you tell me if the DSP has an input that will allow this? I am building a laser that has a conveyor driven material feed system. Once the material is fed into the laser, i want my conveyor controller to signal the laser to run a "job".. after completion of the job, the conveyor controller will feed more material and then signal the laser to cut another "job".. after completing the set number of material feeds the process can then be repeated. More advanced laser control boards work with Z axis feeding of material or they allow you to enter the number of times the drawing should be cut/engraved with a delay between each repeat. The delay time can be specified when setting up the drawing. During this delay the material can be auto fed into the laser field, processed and then after feeding material, repeated. However i do not believe that your DSP controller has this option. Let me know if i can use a remote signal to trigger the "start" of the DSP? Thanks.
