Raster optimization?

Hey guys, I'm trying to work out how you could optimize rastering.

For example, if you have 2 lines you want to raster, but they're say 1 metre apart, the machine travels the whole 1 metre to scan once, back and forth, and it's very slow. Is there a way you can make it raster 1 line first, then it starts on the 2nd line, instead of it trying to do both at the same time?

Hi
yes thats easy, you just need to give both a different color and then give both the same settings.

Doh, of course!

Would be nice if there was a way the software could differentiate automatically, say if the parts were over 5cm away from each other or something, but that'll do :)

Hi my friend
you need to do something, what would you do if the software is doing all for you???? ;)

Don't think you could get much lazier anyway, after all, you've got the laser cutting out things for you, bit of software optimization isn't gonna hurt :D

Speaking of finding ways of being lazy, just figured out a way of getting Illustrator to do all the boring vector tracing work for me.
