I just finished a conversion for my customer "Jim" who was very patience to wait for the project to be completed. A two axis TB6560 motor board is used and it runs great on Mach3

Hi all,
Marco, this board can it be used for engraving aswell as for cutting an how is the laser fire triggered.
I feel more comfitable with Mach3. Caroldraw can't open DXF files.
Thanks
Neil

Hi waltfl,
ok then something is wrong with my coreldraw, just checked which file I was talking about an it is a dxf file.
I went into draw an tried it as an open file, no reconise the file, tyhen tried import same thing so something is amiss.
Hope this file worked:- Please try to open it an post the image here. If it works in opening into coreldraw then
there is something wrong with my settings. Runnung x6 coreldraw atm.
Thanks
Neil

ps:- main thing I like to know is can the TB6560 board able to engrave aswell as cut?

There are many types of DXF files, some open some do not. A older version that works for me is AutoCAD Release 14. From there you can try newer versions.
I opened fine for me in Corel X6, you need to start a New drawing and make the settings either metric or US inches and then Import. Came right in, I did my New drawing in Metric which I use because my laser engraver is Metric.

Hi waltfl,
Thanks it is what it should be, I see that you run X5, I'm running X6.

Hi wmgeorge,
I'll retry it in new draw an set to Metric an import to see if that works

Thanks you two
Neil

Hi all,
Thanks for the insite for the dxf file, coreldraw does not handle it, just coverted it to AI file the imported to coreldraw.
Now back to my original Q

Resurrecting an old thread....

Marco, Were you able to use the stock optical switches with this conversion? If so would you share how this was done? My new K40 has the ribbon cable for the switches. Thanks, Doug.
