Height / Gap Control & Machine size

Hi,
I was wanting to know if the 2012 DSP AWC608 supports a capacitive height sensing unit for gap control when cutting metals?
Also is this control capable of handling machines with a 4x8 foot or larger cutting/engraving area.

Dave:
Are you talking about 'auto focus' feature? Capacitive or non-capacitive sensing is 'don't care' to the DSP card. The auto focus sensing is for any digital signal input from any sensor. By the way, capacitive sensor is capable to detect metal or non-metal object.
Technical speaking, there is no limitation for the XY size. 4x8foot is really noting as some company used it for (10M) 30ft. In that case, laser tube power or the compensation is significant.

Hi Marco,
For gap control, when enabled and cutting a job, I am wanting the machine to continuously adjust the Z-axis for situations that the material
(thin steel) warps or was not flat to start with. This is sort of a continuous auto focus between a settable min and max position.
I am very happy to hear that large machines are supported.
Are there any limits to bitmap engraving sizes?
Thanks
Dave
