Suddend Speed up!!!

Hi all,

I ran into an interesting issue that is intermittant. Let me describe the problem. The problem usually happens when I'm cutting at a slow speed like 1-3 mm/second. My machine will run normally for a period of time and then suddenly without input speed up to some crazy speed like 100mm/sec with the laser still running. Obviously when this happens, the material didn't cut all the way through. The first time this happened, I thought it was just a fluke and ran the part again. Everything appeared normal and continued to be normal for a period of time. It will happen again. So far, this situation has happened about four times in the last few months. My laser is used about four hours per day. Two time this happened was when I pushed pause and when I resumed the job, it happened the second I pushed start.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Thank you,

David

Did it happen to X,Y or both?

Can you tell us more about your machine? What kind of controller, driver, motor are you using?
Without basic info, it's hard to tell what problem it could run into

We have the same proplem with both our machines. DSP 2012, latest version of both LaserCad and firmware. Right now im fighting just to cut a square. First side cuts well, next side at full speed (400 i guess, the display still says 45), 3. side first 3/4 at full speed, then the last 1/4 at normal speed and finally the 4. side at full speed.

The problem seems to occure most when the machine have been paused. When you press start again it cut with what looks to be space speed.

I also have the same problem, it cut first object at normal speed and
speedup (around 100mm/s) on second object on the same file, and some time
happen after pause/restart, my DSP is 2012 the first one that have problem
with laser fire on power down, running lasercad 6.27.

Guldberg & ltran2000

Try the LaserCad I sent see if it fix the issue.

Will do. But the problem is kinda irratical (the worst of them all :-), so Im not sure I can replicate the error. The square problem for instance just suddenly disappered. Not sure how the system is build, but our network is not working very good at the moment, no clue if dropped packages could case problems.

Hi Marco,

I am running Yaskawa Servos on all axis. My mechanicals were professionally designed and all CNC machined. All axis are running on ball screw and linear bearings. I thought it could have been a grounding issue so I drilled a one inch copper ground lead and drove it 12 feet into the ground about six months ago and the problem still persists. It is intermitant. I'm the guy with the cutting and engraving not lining up.

Thanks,

David

Hi Marco,

Have you had a chance to check into this pause and suddens speed up issue with the engineer?

Thank you,

David

No I don't. By the way, what version of OS is your DSP card running?

David, I'm still waiting for your reply. What is the OS version you have on DSP?

Same thing, what is your OS version?
Li said that an update OS should fix the issue.

I mentioned it many times, you don't and you can't install #6,#7,#8 all version. You install only one of those. You need to check on your version to read what is the version it is like "V.##.##.##" where "V" is one of this: 6,7, or 8. If you have something like" 6.12.29.24 that means you have to use V6 update patch.

It's useless by telling me the LCD#, you need to tell me the main board version. It's showing in the same area of the LCD# but the line above it.

In order to upgrade to V6 I have to upgrade V2 and to V6, But still have a problem state above,I through
maybe noise or something but after I changed a newer controller the problem went away, so this problem
happen on the very first bath of controller.
