I have a LO 2012 DSP that I purchased late last year (9/17/12). The problem I'm having is DSP will often lock up, especially when downloading from LaserCAD. A possible related problem is sometimes when I turn on the machine (and DSP) the DSP display panel will paint VERY slowly, like almost pixel by pixel - a on/off cycle will often set things back to normal. The more I use the DSP the worse this problem has gotten, almost like the more files in memory the more apt it is to lock up. Stats on the DSP are as follows:
Main Board: 7.12.08.25
LCD Board: 5.12.02.29

Is there a new firmware or something that might fix this issue?

you should never store any files in the DSP memory, because the memory is only 64mb and pretty much needed for the mchine operation.
you should safe your files on your computer from lasercut then just reload when needed and before you download anyfile to the machine you should format the machine memory.

Thanks waltfl for the tip. I just checked and there were only 2 small files in the DSP. I went ahead and removed them. I still think there is an issue with the firmware, especially if these two small files were an issue. The DSP specs say it has room for 200 files.

Is there an upgrade to the firmware available?

no thats the probleme with the thunderlaser DSP and PHcad the version 4.47 was the last one no further updates or help anymore they stoped to sell this version and the programm
just install the version 4.47 connect to the machine then set it up and update the DSP.
I just did see on your picture that you have both USB connected where they are connected to???? regular there should only be the USB to the computer not the USB- stick .
did you use the format in the display menue? thats what you need to do to make sure that there are no left over still in the memory.

There is no USB stick plugged into the DSP, it is just plugged into the computer. i will give the "Format" a try.

I'm not sure, but I'm not using it on my DSP.
