I have a question. What is the largest stepping motors that can be used on the K40 machine? The thing is that I want to go the fastest as possible in this little machine to engrave some my jobs quicker. it took me about 2 and a half hour to engrave a 10 x 5 wooden plaque. My speed limit is set to 300 and if I try to go faster it will miss steps and I think is understandable for this motors that came with my machine. Also I currently have installed two of the mini 2 phase 1.5A 1 axis stepper controller. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Nema 17 is the biggest it can use. You may find a higher torqe motor if you want but I doubt it can help too much though.
The highest speed I could reach was 450mm/s but without 2:1 reduction gear, backlash could happen and there would be too much stress applied to the little belt. In most time, you don't want to drive the K40 over 350mm/s for quality job. But it's from my point of view other may not be agreed to.
