I have the Premium-Stainless-Steel-Waterproof-PT100-RTD-Temperature-Sensor-Probe-P657 and i was wondering how far it is safe to submerge in water and also approximately where the actual sensor is inside the enclosure. here is a picture with a ruler for reference:

The platinum sensor element is in the very tip of the probe -- about the first 1/4". My opinion -- you can immerse from the tip up to the point where the barrel enlarges diameter -- about 3".
