DSP Controller Advantages for Larger Machines?

We're in the awards and signage industry. I have a smaller 30W laser and a couple of rotary engravers, but I've been seriously interested in a 600x900 80w+ machine to expand our business. We'd like to be able to do more vector cutting and also engrave materials that my 30W machine simply isn't efficient at handling. One of my main hold ups with the Chinese machines is the software solution. I have several problems with them.
1. I hate unnecessary proprietary software. The step of bringing the files into another software program is not something I'm interested in. I'm also not interested in dealing with the bugs associated with the software. Ideally I'm looking for a print driver solution.
2. Dongles. Again, something I hate. The machine is the dongle. I can't do anything meaningful without the machine and no one wants to work in the software the companies provide anyway.
3. Lack of network support. I like to be able to network my devices. I really don't need another computer in the shop just for the laser.
Is there any chance this DSP controller solves any of those problems? Does it offer any other features that are beneficial over other offerings? Are you able to provide any information so that someone could develop a print driver?
