Hole mode in PHCAD 4.47

Good morning all,
I use the older DSP (pre-2012) and am running PHCAD 4.47. I am trying to get hole mode to operate properly. The problem I am having is that the geometry of the vector shape is distorted when using hole mode rather than cut mode. For instance, If I cut out a square shape each side gets progressively shorter.
I haven't tried hole mode in earlier versions of PHCAD. I am using the same approach that has been successful another, different, Leetro controller on our big laser at the local makerspace.
Is this a known problem in 4.47? Is there a known work around?
