Settings for different materials

Hey, I have just purchased a DSP for my home built laser cutter.

I have been looking around for some ideas of settings for certain materials, but couldn't really find anything.

I thought, maybe it would be helpful to people if we list types of materials, and what settings you use to engrave/cut them, as sort of a starting point for new users?

For example, I'd like to do some work with 6mm acrylic, but I have no idea on the best speed/power combo for the job.

Maybe we could compile a list containing things like:

Material:
Laser power:
Machine model (If it's a bought unit):
Laser power (In percentage):
Speed of movement:

That would help people like me completely new to the system start off with some sane values, and tweak from there. At the moment I have no idea what the optimal combination for power/speed is for cutting and engraving acrylic.

Let's hope some of the more experienced laser users can help us with this, I too am new to lasers and am currently "experimenting" with different settings to achieve desired results. I have a piece of 1/8 inch delrin that I am engraving reverse images on and have found that 25% of my 40 watt laser at 300 mm/sec is working well, I am making multiple passes to hopefully prevent making too much of a mess.

www.laserbits.com sells materials and has a page suggesting different settings for their materials.
