How do you wire up the "Open Lid" switch? What kind of switch ie NO or NC?

I'm not really sure on this one as I don't have a lid on mine but if you have set your DSP up to use "High" or "Low" then you need a N.O switch for "High" or a N.C switch for "Low"
If the DSP expects a High signal then it looks for 5 volts coming in from the switch after it has tripped. This is why you put in a NO switch because it will close when it trips sending 5 Volts to the DSP.
If it needs a Low signal then it looks for 0 Volts coming in.
If you buy a limit switch with NO and NC contacts then you can wire them up to suit if you get it wrong. Most of the limit switches I have are Cherry brand and have the 3 terminals on them but many out there only have 2.
I would buy the 3 terminal one for the extra 10c they cost.
I hope I have this right but the information I give you should get you on the right path. Don't forget to test the port with a multi meter and see if you have power there or not.
Rich.

Thanks Rich. What I am wondering is where do I wire the switch into the DSP?

See the connection diagram:

INT1 is revesed for the open lid protection. Once I received my card tomorrow, I'll do a test to confirm that wther active low or active high to stop the machine.

So I wired the switch into INT1 and GND and ran a job and tested it and I didn't see a result. Did I wire it wrong or is there a software switch?

Gnd and INT1 shorted will turn off the laser and the machine until it closed again.
So you need a normally opened switch for that matter
Then, make sure to put a check mark on the LC to enable this function. See picture
