How come you're using still using V5.93 LaserCad??
You should use V6.27 to use with the new OS update.

Also, do not put the image closed to the edge. It's not going to work. The laser head need time to speed up. That's why you will get the "Beyond ..." error.

One more thing: check the "Position relative" >>Options>
Make sure it match your HOME setup

The laser cut was 202 by 101. It did not cut it centered on the page but at the origin which is correctly set at top left and with Machine Zero and Page at the same place

If you can cut that box, I don't think that you have problme to engrave that image. The problem seems to me is that the image was put too closed to the edge and laser head didn't get enough time to fully speed up. That's why you have the "Beyond size" error.

Now, move your image 1"x1" Right and Down. You should be able to engrave it without the error. 1" should be good enough. If not, then 1.5" which I doubt it.

I reverted back to 5.95 as these problems became magnified using the latest firmware /6.27 combo. I thought that going back may reverse this problem but no change....also if you see my earlier post I asked about unable to rotate an imported image , either by the degrees method or by catching the corners in LaserCad or unable to 'slew' the image either. LaserCad 6.27 was unable to do this on my system also. If you tell me that you can perform this operation on your computer using same software then perhaps I have some problem that is causing the lasering problem? But as I've tried to rotate an imported object on other computers with same result I thought this was a software problem and not a hardware problem. I can put on 6.27 if you wish and perform whatever tests you ask, thx mate

Changing the position made no difference to what the laser cut....exactly same position ,top left

LaserCad is not designed for picture manipulation. It can handle basic drawing only. It isn't a great tool to do graphic work but serve as a control panel. You need 3rd software to handle graphic like CorelDraw. I never said that I could rotate the image you sent.

Sry if you misunderstood Marco. As the Lasercad manual states objects can be rotated I assumed an 'imported' object could also be treated the same but obviously that is not the case. I was just trying to eliminate a possible 'cause' of my system not working properly by ascertaining if I was the only one unable to perform this action.

I just tested your file on my K40. It worked as expected. I'm going to upload two videos for you to see

ok thx Marco. I just tried everything again with LaserCad 6.27 but it is a even greater disaster....laser banging into endstops and cant set origin properly...so I've put 5.95 back again...at least now I can set origin in top left. Anything I try to laser no matter where I position on LaserCad page always actually lasers at 0,0

To avoid "Beyond space" error, move the laser head from the HOME (0,0) for about 1" distance.
I could flip your image (rotate) in vertical and horizontal. Note, it must be 180degree but not freely rotation that you can do on other image editing tool like Coreldraw or Photoshop. You should finish the image before sending to LaserCad for work.

I'm ung LaserCad v6.27. But I haven't upgaded the OS yet. I'll do it after this message

I really dont understand whats wrong with my system. On your video I notice your stepper dip switches where step up different to mine so I altered mine to your setup. Put that same file in . Again I cannot make it engrave at any place other than top left. Put in your speed of 400 but no go at all, changed speed to 200, ran for approx 20 secs than over size error again!

recalibrated system so that a 200mm x100mm cuts actual size 200x100 Tried to engrave other file at 100 speed......34secs run then oversize error. ...still cant engrave at any other position except top left

LaserCad has nothing to do with the 'crash'. What stepper controller did you use? I'm using M415 with 1/16 (3200).

Make sure you double check all setting after LaserCad is loaded. Also, turn off your anti-virus program when you're doing install. You may want to download the file again and try again. I'll try the uploaded file see if it's corrupted.
