Need to get a new controller board

Post by refurbsupplies »

I purchased a LG900 600mm x 900mm 80watt laser from G Weike in China last year.

The Leetro MPC6515 controller and the software is a pain. We have two people using this machine and we have to keep swapping the dongle. The software is glitchy and crashes a lot. We have been living with it but now we upgraded our PCs to Windows7 64bit and it will not work now. Plus (I believe coincidentally) something went wrong and the laser completely locks up after every cut OR if just trying to delete a file from memory. After 20 seconds a message appears on the LCD in Chinese.

I am very interested in the DSP controller. I would like to ditch LaserCut software, the dongle, and connect the laser to the network.

I should be able to handle the upgrade but would like to know what else I should be worried about or need. I read that some smaller lasers need a stepper motor controller.

Also, do I need/want the external controller?

Has anyone changed out the MPC6515 for the DSP yet?

I to am in the same boat. I have a GWeike 1290 and want to upgrade electronics/software. My set up is similar to the about. I have had a bunch of problems with the wiring job they did and am looking to rewire the whole thing. Perhaps someone could shed some light. If it works I'd buy another for another laser im building.
