Is there a way to tell LaserCAD to use the U axis instead of the Y axis?
I have a rotational adapter and would like to just plug it in when I need it and not have to unwire my Y axis to wire the rotational motor in.
I can not find anywhere in the drawing space to designate using the U axis.
Thanks for any insight.

Re: Enable "U" axis in laserCAD
I had the same problem. I have a separate motor driver for my rotary axis and wanted to use it instead of turning the whole engraver off, disconnecting the y axis motor and starting it back up again with the rotary axis plugged in. I figured it was a simple fix. I just wired a triple throw double pole switch from the Y axis out on the DSP and connected the both motor drivers to the switch so I can flip between rotary and regular engraving. The best part is, the y axis motor locks so the y axis won't move up and down by accident, therefore loosing the center of the rotary axis.
Switches can be found for around $10 and a cheap motor controller can be had for under $20.

On our machine, we installed a relay and a switch to switch the Y to the rotary.
I'll take some pictures and posted it once I got a chance. Currently travelling and may take me a while to get it done
