Hey, does anyone else seem to get this error very regularly?
It seems to be happening to me a lot. It seems to do it when:
I create an object and set it to engrave, but don't put anything to cut on the page
I change the speed of a cut/engrave and try start it again
It also has happened a few times right in the middle of a job, wasting material. All my objects ARE inside the workspace in lasercad, and my speed and power settings are all under what I have set in manufacturer settings, why do I keep getting this error??

Dan

Re: Engrave beyond size error
I get the same error, but I'm just getting things setup on my machine. I'll be following this one closely. There is one thing I've noticed, and that is if I turn on the machine and it finds home, it will go out to 1000mm x 1000mm. If I try to draw something and cut it, It will give me this error. I have to reset the machine and after the homing procedure and going back out to 1000mm x 1000mm (I have no idea why it does this. It is not the extreme limits of my workspace.) If I jog back to 0,0 which is at the top left side and I try the same job again, it runs just fine. See if you get the same results. Pay attention to where your laser head is when you start the job.
I hope we can both resolve this one.
Best,
David

Interesting you bring this up, I noticed it doing something similar too. That is, after homing, the Y axis moves out to 176.1 every time. I can't find any settings for this anywhere in lasercad, quite odd.

Re: Engrave beyond size error
I keep getting this damn error! Seems to happen most during the Engrave function. I've wasted over $60 in material now because it keeps stopping randomly with the engrave beyond size error
Can someone please chime in on how to fix it? Can't afford to waste any more material
It's not hitting any limit switches, it's not going any faster than my manufacturer settings, everything is well within the workspace size, whats going on??

Re: Engrave beyond size error
Everytime the machine hit home than ran to 100mm,100mm or whatever location because it's been set to an virtual origin. It's normal. You can set any Origin to any location by press the "Origin" on the LCD keypad. Then, the machine will move to the new origin after hitting "Home". Or, you can set the Orign control by the software, not controlled by the LCD. You should read through the manual as it did mention if I'm not forgotton.
Plus, you can run "simulation" beofre cutting or engraving. Did you try it? Or, before you ru any real job, run the "BOX" first and it will tell if the machine will go beyond the area. If it does, the "BOX" function will pop up an error message. Not sure why didn't you use this two good features. This is all tell on the manual. If not, it's an old topic in the form.

Hi Marco, thanks for your reply. I will change my origins and see if it still does it.

Re: Engrave beyond size error
"Engrave Beyond Size" error is because you the controller needs room to get the head up to speed before (left and right) the place you have the engraving. The slower your acceleration, the more space it needs. Increase your acceleration, if you can. Otherwise, move your material to a more central location on the laser bed and give the head room on left and right to accelerate.Things wrote:Hey, does anyone else seem to get this error very regularly?
