See picture of what I have done with micro stepping using a key pad with new chp.
I was trying it with normal key stroke and fine stroke (nail tip). The fine step that I could made was 0.1mm (see picture, mutlipe 0.1mm) on each step. For a normal press (touch'n go), roughtly I could get 1mm or very easy with 2mm for each step. It depends how 'big' or how 'small' your finger tip, you may get different result vary.
Speed setting on the parameter made some difference. Strange though I may get better on 200mm/s better than 100mm/s.
Hope the result may help you folks to get the 'feel' of how the new LCD module can do for you. For those who already have 2012 AWE-60, don't worry, this can be done by replacing a new chip on the LCD panel.

Re: How to set JOG increment on 2012 DSP
Compare to the key without the new chip, the smaller step was 10mm. So my conclusion is that even it's a little hard to get 0.1mm without practise, but it's pretty easy to get 1mm for sure. Plus, the programmer said that he would try to improve it and make it easy to do it. So, the new chip for the keypad is very promising. I'll post a picture of the current keypad(without new chip) for compare.

LCD 5.12.01.05
I seem to be able to jog in smaller than 10mm increments. Will this upgrade make my version better?
Second question,
The inching feature works well but is several steps into the menu to access it. (Inching Control) This makes it more trouble than it is worth in everyday operation.
Could inching be implemented so that holding a modifier key (say ESC) while jogging, will enter inching mode and only move the distance set in Inching Control, per arrow button press.
This would make inching very accessible and would become a much used feature.
Similar jogging modes are used on CNC control software.

Re: How to set JOG increment on 2012 DSP
As I already mentioned above, the smallest step I could get is 0.1mm with fast and light key stroke. For a normal key stoke, I could get 1.5mm to 2.0mm easily. So, it's really up to you as I don't know what did you get as you didn't mention how small step you could get or how finest step you want to get.
We're not going to do any change for now. I think I pushed the programmer too quick and too hard for getting new features then draw some back fire. We're exhausted and tired. Unless it's a bug is reported, otherwise this is it.

I got my chip and installed it. It seems to work well at both micro steps and long steps. Buy your programmer a beer.
