wishlist for future upgrades of the DSP

Post by waltfl »

Hi marco
I thought it maybe would be a good idea if for instance I have a file what needs to be engraved and afterwards cut but one run in cutting would be not enough but is enough for the engraving part. if there would be a setting where I could select how many times the negraving and how many times the cutting should be made would save a lot of time and not to make seperate files for ether one.
maybe you could ask the programmer if this is even possible as update.
greetings

When you "Download" a job file to the main board, there is an area allow you to enter the number times work per job. Isn't work out for your case?

no the probleme is that it would do both the engraving and the cutting but in my case I am working lots with wood and the engraving is fine with the first run but the cutting needs to be done in a few runs because that the wood would not be burned to much on the cutting line
thanks for looking in to

So what you mean was that you want to run times during cutting as the power may not be high enough to cut through the wood, isn't it?
That sounds reasonable

no I need to lower the power on each cutting run in order to prevent exessiv burn marks on the cutting line.
right now I use two identical files each with just ether the engraving part and the other with only the cutting part
but this slowes the total process dramatically down because of reloading the files in each run

You really confused me here. I've been reading your post times and I though that that you wanted to be able to cut or (engrave) multiple time per layer. Unless I'm interpretated it wrong.

"if there would be a setting where I could select how many times the negraving and how many times the cutting should be made would save a lot of time and not to make seperate files for ether one."

If not, then I really don't see why can't you use the power setting (1%~100%) for each layer and do the work by one shot (say 20% engraving, 90% cutting). If the power of your laser tube isn't enough, then my suggestion was to ask the programmer to add "number of times per layer" to do mutiple cut but then you said no that. I really got no clue what exactly you want

hi marco,
you did understand it right sorry if I have confused you.
the feature I am asking is exactly what you mentioned number of cut per layer.
thanks
walt

Got it. Just sent your request to the programmer see if he can do it with next release. If not, he may do it on next one then

Hi marco
I did find out another part what would be great if this could be included in future upgrades.
It would help very much if I could re-load files from the DSP to the lasercut programm on my computer.
sometimes I need to recall a file what is on the DSP allready but needs to be changed in location or other settings, but on the DSP I can change to some settings but as a sample I can not change the start location what could be done easely in the lasercut programm.
I still can not save the files from the DSP on to the USB stick its just brings the message " coppy error"
thanks
and a merry christmess
