LaserCut 5.5 shape issue

Post by dwessels »

Hi,

I am having issues cutting the attached shape out (The shape is an L shape.)
The laser does the first part correctly, and then just skips a point, creating a weird triangle shape.

The attached is a LaserCut 5 saved file.
LaserCutFiles.zip
(4.21 KiB) Downloaded 224 times
Any help / ideas would be appreciated as this is a logo that I need to be able to cut.

Thanks!

Here are some photos of the issue happening.

The one is an L shape.

The other is a rectangle that I was trying to cut out. Notice it has the L shape in there, but it is disabled. Just the fact that it is in there, breaks the rectangle. If I remove the L, the rectangle cuts correctly.

Thanks.

Hi,
Are you using LaserCut5 program on it's own or do you draw in Corel or some other program?

Have you tried just drawing a freehand "L" shape and see if that cuts?

If it does then select the line with the arrow tool (the "pick point" tool or "node edit" directly under the "pick" tool) and double click on the points/nodes you don't want then move the rest of them around to shape the "L" shape you want.

It does seem like a strange way of doing it but it would check to see if the laser cuts through all the points/nodes and to see whether they are all grouped together. Have you tried to select all of the points then "group" them. I don't know if this would make any difference as I have never had to do this but it might be worth a try.

Alternatively, zoom in at the problem point and, using the pick tool again, double click a point very close to the problem point to insert a node and see how that goes.

get back to us on how you get on.

Rich.

Problem found and addressed. I'm trying to upload it by FTP but Internet here is terrible slow. The software will be V5.5.2 (note, it will show V5.7 after installed)
