I reread the manual on saving a file and instructing the DSP to process it but I am still having problems.
To run a file directly from the computer through the USB connection the procedure is as follows?
1. complete the drawing. save it to the computer ( i'm using a file in " documents").
Click on the dataum button ( machine resets)
Click on download.
Download document window opens.
Click on download document
To run the file click on "start mm/s"
this is when I get the " the file data" error on the LCD display.
Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?
also can you please send me the a copy of the file that is normally stored on the main board ( the duck drawing) I want to reload it.
send it to my email address please.. Marco you should have it on file.
I'm sure I am missing something simple..
Any advice would be helpful... Thanks everyone!

What version of LaserCad are you using?
Per programer, it is not hardware issue
Go to the software area and download the latest LaserCad v7.6
I don't habr that file: "duck"

Re: File data error message on DSP
I'm using V7.43B
I just down loaded a copy of the more recent version and will try that later tonight...V7.60b
I also downloaded the most recent OS DSP patch 150722l1.. the one I was using was 150120
I will try these new versions.. do you think that might have been the problem?
I will let you know. Thanks!
Paul

Re: File data error message on DSP
I down loaded and I installed the new software after removing the previous version. I could control the x/ygantry from the computer just as,before. But could not send a drawing to the dsp. I then in installed the new OS patch. Now I get a "no communication message when searching for the com port..the dsp is clearly not connecting to my computer now...I don't get the windows message that says new hardware found like I did with the previous patch...I also tried loading the new laser cad version on another windows 7 computer..that also could not communicate with the dsp..I was, able to save a file to my a thumb drive and copy it to the dsp and run the file..the gantry worked perfectly. This clearly has to be a communication issue or a defective USB connection on the dsp?
Please help.
Please help.

Paul:
Uninstall the LaserCad and delete the folder. Then, install the LaserCad V7.6 again.
After the LaserCad installed, run the setup.exe again and this time, do only USB driver installation
Reboot the PC
Let me know if it works out

Re: File data error message on DSP
I tried everything you suggested
And as you know I ordered a new dsp from you in case I could not resolve the communication issue.
As soon as plugged in the new lcd screen, powered on the old dsp and connected the USB cable to my computer the new driver software automatically installed and I am able to communicate with the dsp. The laser is working as it should and I can adjust all the settings as needed. It appears the origional lcd panel was deffective.
I will need a replacement lcd screen. I can use the new dsp on the next machine. As you know we are building 5.
Let me know what you would like to do..thanks Marco.
Sincerely,
Paul
