Overcurrent meter goes to full scale!!! (RESOLVED!!!)

I just installed a new laser tube ,
I connected everything .
set the potentiometer is nearly at minimum
but just do the test laser current meter goes to full scale!!!

the laser begins to work if I put the pot in the middle ( the needle always goes to full scale ) the laser starts to work but unable to affect just paper

I may not have well-insulated connections to the tube maybe....

Can someone please help me!!!

You need to post pictures of your connection. Can't help if without info from you.

I just disconnected the old tube and replaced with the new one(the wires are only two and I have reconnected in the same position)


(at the moment I can not post photos , tomorrow I will post )

Check the pot (assuming you're using a 3 legs potentiometer) connection that used to limit the laser current, that one of the legs that go to the Gnd may got lose. If it got in full scale, then what happen to the laser tube. Full power output also? I want to know more before we can help. Remember that by calling "not working", you will not get much hep

when i got full scale, the laser tube power output is vary vary low....

at the moment i'm outside, .....but i will check...
maybe I have disconnected the Gnd

Seems you didn't has the Gnd wire attached. If so, it is very dangerous

Bad news ,
now the power supply (side hight voltage laser) It stopped working.....
low power 12V is ok ...
I think that the power supply is gone
help!!!

Sorry to hear that.

BTW, the pictures you sent didn't help much because it is not completed and I can't see the completed connection. Plus, no label on each plugs.

May be you should get a standard LPSU instead.

Hi Again,
are really desperate , I have replaced the power supply but the problem remains .
Here it is my connection (below )...... but everything seems ok (because I did not touch anything ) ....
summary:
About a month ago the water pump stopped working and I burned the laser
I replaced the laser, but when I just turn the pot power the current goes over 40mA!!!

Please someone help me !!! I am desperate !!!

Sorry I have no clue. That power supply seems not able to output more than 30mA and ifor it could go beyond it. It is a little odd

Hello Marco will not believe it but it works !!!!
It was just the ammeter broken, I replaced it with mine and it works perfectly .....
I hope this can be of help to someone else ...
