We operate 2 lasers in school, one uses a 608 and the other uses a x7. They have very different settings and table sizes. When switching between the two machines we have to read the machine config and workspace in order to upload new jobs to the newly selected laser. It would be a nice feature if when the laser is selected from the popup menu, the machine config and workspace config is automatically read from the laser or from a separate locally stored configuration file.
If the selected laser does not match up to the loaded config, the job does not load correctly over the network causing delays or unexpected behavior when the job is run. By automatically loading the correct configuration and workspace for each laser when selected by the user will help save time and cut down on user frustrations.

Re: Feature request!
If you install two versions of Lasercad, for instance version V7.76 and V7.57, in a different map on your harddisk, you can apply settings of the first laser to one of them and the second laser to the other.
On the desktop you can rename the icons like LC_laser1 and LC_laser2..
For me this works fine..
Although you might connect one over USB and the other over Ethernet, but you can test is, when you give them both another IP-adress (like 192.168.8.8 and 192.168.8.18) that you can adress them over your router separate..
