Air Assist connection

Just remember, if you are going to install a relay for air assist, you will need to install a protection diode on the coil terminals. If not, the voltage spike as the coil turns off could feed back into the controller and .... well ... let's just say "let the magic smoke out".

As javawantabe said a suppressor across the coil is a good idea. I would use a 24vdc relay to isolate.
The air output is a sinking output, closes to common. Also I have added a selector switch to my air assist.
OFF, ON, Auto. A double throw single pole. The common of the switch goes to the solenoid. Position connects
to nothing (off, for test runs) position two connects to common(for on always), position 3 connects
to the 608 output (auto).

BTY. If anyone is using a pressure regulator for the air assist, you may have better luck putting it
after the solenoid. Most of these small solenoids are air pilot assist. It uses the in coming air pressure to
shift the spool in the solenoid. If the pressure is regulated to low it is not enough pressure to shift the spool.
