I am trying to make sure that my stepper motors get constant current to make sure their torque characteristics are the same. Does the 3 axis controller use chopper type control limiting mechanism?
Also, does the board supply PWM power throttling mechanism to the laser via Mach3?
3 axis stepper controller: chopper type current control ?

Re: 3 axis stepper controller: chopper type current control ?
I'm going to order a new board with current setting. It's the latest one and using Toshiba TB6560 PWM power IC. The resolution can be set down to 1/16 compare to the 1/4 of the current TA8435.
PWM is supported but the Mach3 seems haveing a little trouble to output PWM in a precise manner. A lot of folks complain Mach3 of not being able to handle PWM well
