IR LED series without resistor

Postby nima » Mon Aug 26, 2013 3:52 pm

Hi,

I am making an IR light with two line of 24 LEDs (10x 8mm 3-Chips 200mW Infrared (IR) 850nm LED (60deg a pack of 10)) which would be 48 LEDs in total.
I am thinking of having 6 string of 4 LED in each line, It would be great if I can have the whole circuit without any resistors.
Is there any suggestion of what power supply will suite this config and is it feasible?
Any better config?

Thanks,
Nima

Why not use a single 3watt or 5watt IR lED instead. It is easy to implement. Use a 5W driver for a 3W IR LED or two 3W driver for a 5W IR LED
