Raycam Greyscale Etchings

I have a k40 laser and put the light object dsp upgrade in it. It has a 25.4mm lens and the z power bed. Ive been playing with the greyscale feature and was wondering if anyone here has exp with it. Im doing high quality etchings on anodized aluminum. I have been just loading the pic into raycam, inverting and then setting the greyscale settings. I have been using 11 max power and 3 minimum and result have been ok. Not quite photorealism though. Is there some other settings that will help achieve realistic photo etchings? TIA
