correct wiring for volt meter

JUST purchased a EPM-AAC30V . It's in the mail. I'm amking a PS for a foam cutter. will be using a 120V 24vct/4A transformer. It will be variable. 3 leads on secondary, 2 outside are 12v, not using center lug. Is it as simple as connecting the 2 wires of the v-meter to the 2 12v lugs?
