JLD5704 voltmeter under-reads voltage

Post by aardvark »

Trying to use this for bottom balancing a battery, but the JLD5740 is under-reading by 0.7v.

I'm testing it on a LifePO pack, 30 cells in parallell.

My multimeter reads 3.19v on the cell and 3.19v at pins 6 and 8 on the JLD5740.

The JLD5740 reads a voltage of 2.5v on it's display. I have set Ah1 to 3.2v and AL1 to 3.05 for testing.

I can hear the relay clicking when I connect the 12v aux power, and the J1 light is off. I have continuity on the J1 relay pins 14 and 15 when there is no load connected to pin 6 and 8. While it reads 2.5v I still get continuity between pins 14 and 15.

I would have thought J1 should open at a reading of 2.5v, so pins 14 and 15 should not be connected.

Any help will be appreciated :)
