5035 Digital Amp Meter Connections

Post by nelsonah »

I received three of these, three 100 amp 75mv shunts, and the RF1212Cs-2W isolator.

All came quickly and in good condition. However, absolutely no documentation.

There are four leads coming from the back of this meter via a plug.
Left to Right they are: Red, Black, White, and Greenish-Blue.

I assumed that the Red is + power, Black is - power, and the remaining two for the shunt.

Your catalog states that the power can be DC6V to DC15V.

I used an independent 12v battery to test the unit. + to red, - to black. No indication of power to the display.

Thanks,
Harvey

Thanks, I had already found the great posting on use of the Isolator.

What I'm trying to do is verify the operation of the 5035 Digital Amp Meter.

I'm assuming that with the application of 12 VDC, from a stand-a-lone battery, to the red & black leads I should see activity on the meter. Zero's or close there to.

I don't, any suggestions?

Have you looked at this post: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=6
Remember that you have to install a DC shunt with the same rating as the current meter.
Say the meter is 200A, then you have to install a 200A, 75mV DC shunt
