Lo-x7 firing at full power

Newly installed lo-x7 with new known good ammeter. When laser button is pressed, unit fires at full power. (~ 30 ma) Max power is set to 55 percent in the manufacturers laser settings. Ran the Donald duck test cut which has the max settings between 40-55% and still the maameter read around 30 ma. I have the pwm pin hooked to IN on the lpsu, and ttl to L, and g to ground. Everything else seems to work fine, it just seems as if the PWM is not modulating the lasers power correctly. My lpsu is an hy-dy20, and the tube is a 130 watt GSI tube. It must be that I've missed something but I can't imagine what it would be..

if you lower the max, let's say to %20, is it still 30mA? 55% of the power supply getting 30mA is normal. (55% does not mean 55% of the tube's power.)
If that is not the case, use a voltmeter to check the pwm pin.

I reduced the max power to 25 percent and it's still reading greater than 30 ma. I measured the voltage between the pwm wire and ground, and it measured 56

v and did not change when I pushed the laser fire button.

disconnect those wires(unplug the green adapter) and measure again. Try to use Laser2 in LaserCad and measure Laser2 pwm too.

So I disconnected the plug from the lpsu and tested. After the power up with no lpsu connected, from gnd to pwm measured 0v. Upon pushing the laser fire button the pwm to gnd rose to 14v and stayed there. Thinking it must be some kind of ground issue with the water protect circuit, I disconnected the water protect line and it's ground and repeated the test, but the results were the same. I checked all the grounds and everything is right.

I went ahead and unhooked everything except gndand 24v, and the pwm still goes to 14v when the laser button is pressed and stays there.

The PWM should be below 5V. The strange thing is once you hook up the green adapter, the reading goes higher. What controller/power supply were you using before?

I was using a cohesion 3d before. Still using the same power supply, an hy-dy20. Is it possible there is a setting I've missed? I've gone through the laser menu in the manufacturers settings, it's set to co2 glass tube, ttl valid is low level and the pwm frequency is 20000. That should be everything, right?

Ugh. Ok, scratch all that. The batteries in both of my DMMs were apparently close to dying. Calibrated all the meters and now, I think I understand what's happening. So I set the max power to 45 percent in the manufacturers settings as shown, expecting that that would be the max power for the laser. It appears that the settings on the front page pictured below, override that. So if I set the cut settings on the main page to 95 percent, it is not 95 percent of the 45 percent I set laser max power to, it is 95 percent power. It also appears that the pwm stays high after the laser button is released, is that correct? Also the laser button responds to the settings programmed in to the lasermaxpower1 setting, and I would have expected it to respond to the max power % in the laser parameters of the manufacturer settings.

So I hooked everything back up, and reduced the power setting on the front panel and it reduced the power of the laser appropriately. Is there any way I can make the max power setting in the laser parameters take precedence over the front page settings? I would like for the max power setting in the laser parameters to be the absolute max power and the lasermaxpower1 to be a percentage of the max set in laser parameters.
