Controller won't connect to my PC

When I am trying to send a file from the software on my PC to the controller card it presents an error that it cannot locate or connect to the controller card. I have to output the file on a thumb drive then import through the usb port on the controller screen. Any clues on what the issue could be? I triple checked that all cables and connections are securely fastened.

I have the x7 dsp and i am running a windows 10 laptop and i can not connect to the controller directly either .
I have tryied updating the fdti driver and tried raycam and lasercad with no luck the laser shows in device manager under usb controllers but not in ports setting. any help would be helpful.
