Upgrade WKLaser LC1390 DPS to X7

Post by eisaiasjr »

Hello,

I am wondering if it is possible to use upgrade my LC1390's controller to the DPS X7 that is available here. Also, how much work it would require.

Thanks in advance for your response!

Sure it's possible... But you have to find out what controller(type, brand,,) is in it now and what all wires do..
If you know that, it's a matter of a few hours to replace it and program the controller to your machine-specific settings..
(that is, if you're quite good in building machines and understand how a laser works... )

Techgraphix,

Below is the link of the Laser Cutter I purchased.

It runs MCP6515B I am not sure if this helps...

Ok, i found out the following from the Leetro MPC6515 manual and the LO-X7 (= ~ AWC708C-Lite)
One extra thing to get the laser to work:
Or you connect the waterprotect-switch to the controller (connector 6 - Pin 2) and make a shortcircuit between the WP and GND of the laser-power-supply ..
Or you connect the waterprotect-switch to the WP and GND of the laser-power-supply and make a shortcircuit PROTECT to GND of the controller (connector 6 - Pin 2 to 6 - Pin 5 )
In both cases you also have to shortcircuit the PROTECT to GND of the Laser2 connector ( connector 5 - Pin 2 to 5 - Pin 5)
I prefer to connect the WaterProtectSwitch to the controller..

See if you can get it to work with the next table:

MPC6515......................................LO-X7........
X1 - Pin 1........+24V........................PWR - Pin 1........24V
