HELP! Laser not firing? - SOLVED
I just finished the X7 DSP upgrade for my K40. Everything seems to be working well except I can't get the laser to fire. I have a water pressure sensor (from Lightobject) installed but I jumped WP & G as a test and it still won't fire. I double checked all the wiring to the PS per the diagram and it checks out. Everything is grounded per the diagram. I also made sure the door switch was set to close. I did see in another post that there is a fuse in the PS but I haven't checked that yet. Is there anything else I should be checking?

Re: HELP! Laser not firing?
What kind of LPSU do you have? For the stock LPSU, make sure P+/P- and the K+/K- is configured properly
You may test the LPSU/Laser without the the DSP control -> WP to Gnd, +5V to IN, TL to Gnd and it will fire in full power (warning!)

Re: HELP! Laser not firing?
I purchased everything for the upgrade from your site:
http://www.lightobject.com/20W45W-PWM-C ... V-P71.aspx
I will try jumping the terminals you suggest.
Thanks!

Re: HELP! Laser not firing?
How did you test the laser and it didn't work?
Probably send me some screen shoot of the parameter and the layer setting
Also, double check the AC110V/220V voltage switch. If you're running on AC110V, make sure it is set to AC110V

Re: HELP! Laser not firing?
You need to set the power % by the LCD when fire the laser through the "Laser" button.
Usually, you need to set it to 10% in order to fire.
Also, double check the wire connection from the DSP to the laser power supply. Pay attention to "TH" and "TL" as we're using "TL" for firing control. Check if the laser tube grow when laser button is press. If it did but no fire on the laser head, something wrong with your alignment. If it show little grow, something is wrong with power setting.
If a fuse is blown, you won't hear any noise from the fan inside the LPSU. I suggest you to go through the connection with the diagram. Also, read the manual and the FAQ.

Re: HELP! Laser not firing?
Marco,
I re-checked the connections and I cannot find a mistake. I jumped the terminals on the PS as you suggested and the laser did fire at full power. I've also gone through the menus in the panel and can't find what I may be missing. I've attached photos to see if that can help. I really appreciate any help as I'm new to this software.
Thank you,
Frank

Re: HELP! Laser not firing?
I think I know the issue. The board you have is the newer one that need two data cables to connect to the I/O board. Send me a closeup image of the connector (unplugged it) so I can confirm it. Also, send me your order number and I will send you the missing cable if that is the case

Re: HELP! Laser not firing?
Got it. It is a missing cable case. The new X7 need two cable in order to work properly. Even though I strongly disagreed the arrangement, there is no better way at this time. Per Li saying, the old connector always cause problem because no tide lock mechanisms. It is only available on 12pin but not 14 pin and that's why he turned all X7 for dual 12pin connector. I'll try to get this thing straight out because I'm totally not buying this idea. It is bulky and inconvenience to have to big cable when a pin cable can take care all signal. Well, in the mean time, we just wait.
Frank, so sorry about the issue. I have told my staff to send you a cable this afternoon. If they have don't so, I'll ask them to do it again tomorrow. Please accept my apology.

Re: HELP! Laser not firing? - SOLVED
I received the additional cable today and that did the trick. The machine is working as it should. I have to say it never worked this well. I'm really impressed with the DSP upgrade. Thank you for your help!
