So many folks asked me how to setup the connection of the 3axis stepper for a laser machine. Here you go, I draw a simple diagram and it should be clear enough to understand. In order to work, the CO2 power supply must be the type of 5V triggering or it won't work.
What the CW does is that it simulate the CNC spindle 'down' action. Assuming it's moving down (in G-code, Z is changing from 0 to +) , the CW 'High or 5V' and since the stepping motor is in motion, so the relay is energerized. That way, a 5V 'down signal' pass through the relay (N.O. contact became closed contact) and the 5V signal reached to the PS 5V (H) to fire the laser
By the way, there is a mistake on the picture. The "In" and "5V" should be shorted. Otherwise, the PS got no output
