Anyone using T9 with Autocad? Share your experiences.

Looking for a more engineering-accurate way of creating art for jobs requiring a combination of cutting and engraving. I'm debating whether I should buy AutoCAD or not.
Is anyone doing this with the T9 controller and AutoCad? What version? Any helpful tips?
Also, If I'm not designing on the same computer as I'm using on the laser cutter, will I really need a second license to install it there since the LaserSoft installer won't seem to install the AutoCad importer unless Autocad is installed too.
