How to upgrade firmware

I downloaded the LaserCad V7.86.1 update. I unzipped it and ran the installer and pointed it to my foldser that the program is installed in. It told me OK and then I got a screen saying software may not have installed properly and I am not seeing any reflection of an update or upgrade. It is still saying it is version 7.77.3.
What have I done wrong and what do I need to do right? Thanks!
