Home made fiber laser metal cutting machine

Hello everyone, my name is Allan i am from argentina and i have been building cnc machines for the last 3 years, we build laser co2, plasma and router. I was wondering if it is possible to build a home made fiber laser machine for cutting metal. If i get the head and the source, what else do i need?

Yes. For a cheap cheap one, you can use a big gantry with a stepping motor. Why not use servo? It is expensive and it take a lot of skills to fine tune parameters for a servo.

Thank you for your answer marco, i am serching but there is not much information, it is posible to use a regular co2 laser dsp? or build a cheap board with mach3 or arduino? why all fiber laser machines uses servos? is to heavy the head? thanks!
