How thick do you want to cut? Stainless steel or iron plate?
Nitrogen or CO2 air assisted seems help. I got to find out more about it

I'm guessing the laser unit could be mounted to an x-y gantry at which point the expensive servo system would not be needed.
Might not be quite as fast, but I wold happily trade speed off to save on capital outlay.

For cutting, we don't need speed. If one can do stainless steel with 10mm/s is considerate as high speed. Sure we can take advantage from high speed cutting (not really doing cutting but engrave the outline of characters graphics). In that case, 200mm/s sure be considered as fast enough. Most XY stage can handle up to 500mm/s. So, speed isn't our concern but the price of the laser module and the controller card.
