got dsp hoked up and one of the stepper motors was wired wrong so i swapped a couple wires around and now it works fine but there is a faint high pitched whining noise coming from the stepper motor when it stops moving, sometimes i can move it a little and it will quit sometimes i have to move it into the limit switch to make it quiet down, it is not very loud just enough to drive a guy crazy im guessing like a dog whistle to a dog.... could i still have it wired wrong or would it not work right if that was the case.... thanks for any help

They do whine when on hold. I think it’s when they are between steps and micro stepping. I recently upgraded to hybrid closed loop motors. They are much quieter, smoother and also don’t stop with as much inertia as steppers so have far less vibration.
