Arcing problem?

Hello,
I have been in the process of upgrading my laser for the past 2 months or so on and off and it has been frustrating to say the least. Right now I am encountering a problem with arcing I believe? I rigged up all the electronics and everything was working with the exception to a little bit or arcing. During the first few test cuts, the laser power would fade throughout the cut so I covered all exposed wire insulation with the provided silicon tubing. Now when I press on the laser fire button, the laser fires continuously without any problems. When I try to run an engrave program, the machine engraves for about 1 second and then the controller resets. I hear some arcing inside when this is happening so I don't really want to continue messing around with it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
