Can the Power Table be modded?

I have some tall bent anodized aluminum parts I want to engrave. My plan was to just cut out the bottom of the enclosure and have a manually adjusted platform hanging underneath it, but this power table looks great and is priced right for me. My question is if I get the power table, could the parts be modded for more lift extension? I.E. are the lead screws press fit/permanently attached or could I swap them out for longer ones? Also could it be bolted to the underside of the enclosure and with an open cut out, to facilitate taller objects?
