Cracked laser tube!

Post by dave92 »

Hi guys,

Attached is a picture of my laser tube, it seems to be cracked and water leaking from it. Is this the end of the tube or would some silicone around the crack do the job? I have looked closely and it only seems to be the water part of the tube that is cracked. The laser still fires

Hi thanks for your response,

I've added some of the high temp silicone around the crack and it seems to have stopped the water leak and the laser seems to be working exactly as it should. I have a replacement tube on the way from China but would this hold up for light use until new one arrives?

I think it should be OK. As long as no more water leaking, the tube may last for a moment. But pay more attention to the leak and you don't want to see "disaster"
